10.8 x 3.0m THOW

Typically in NZ, most tiny house manufacturers are only able to build to a maximum size of 7.6 x 3.0m. This is because legally, in NZ, a ‘light trailer’ is restricted to a total weight of 3500kg. Using traditional materials (and including the weight of the trailer itself), by the time the tiny house is fitted out with kitchen, bathroom, mezzanines etc, the total weight will be maxed out at 3500kg. However, if you build with ALSIPS panels, you will comfortably be able to build the largest tiny house legally permissible. The maximum dimensions for a ‘light trailer’ is 12.5m long by 2.55m wide. If a tiny house is removable from the trailer, then the tiny house can be up to 3.1m wide without any special pilot vehicle(s) required during transportation as it is considered a ‘load’ on the trailer and not a part of the trailer itself. Bearing in mind that you need about 1.5m for the trailer draw-bar, this means you can build a 10.8 x 3.0m tiny house! That’s one big tiny house! See the comparison chart to get an idea of the weight and cost of ALSIPS used to build a 10.8 x 3.0m tiny house compared to traditional materials. We can also design, engineer and manufacture a special 10.8 x 3.0m detachable trailer for your build.

Panel Packages

To make it easy, we've put together three panel packages for larger builds! Each package includes detailed working drawings of each panel and drawings of the overall assembly. If a package below isn’t the size you need, we can easily customise a package for your desired build.

8.4 x 3.0 x 3.6m* - structure weight approx. 453kg
9.6 x 3.0 x 3.6m* - structure weight approx. 504kg
10.8 x 3.0 x 3.6m* - structure weight approx. 556kg

*3.6m refers to the height of panel from floor on high end of structure. Roof pitch = 3 degrees.
